Virginia James, RN, MSN, CPNP

Nurse practitioner Virginia James joined Northwest Pediatrics in 2009 upon completing her Master’s in Nursing at Saint Louis University.  Her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing was also completed at SLU in 2001.  She is a board-certified primary care pediatric nurse practitioner and is  a member of the St. Louis chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.

Before joining Northwest Pediatrics, she worked as an RN at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. While there, she primarily took care of infants and children under the age of five with a wide variety of acute and chronic illness.

She has always known that her career would involve working with children. As a child, she wanted to be a teacher, but later took an interest in the medical field. She loves her job because she has the best of both worlds. She finds children fascinating and really enjoys having conversations with them. She hopes to make a positive impact regardless of what is bringing them to the office.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time and traveling with her husband and two kids. She also enjoys listening to music, reading, and taking her dogs for long walks.
